Biography of Woraphon Petchkhum, Thailand's Olympic silver medalist

Lieutenant Worapot Petchkhum was born on May 18, 1981 in Phanom District, Surat Thani Province. He is a Thai amateur boxer who won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics in Greece. He was honored to be the flag bearer leading the Thai national team in the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics.

In the boxing competition at the 2010 Asian Games, Worapot defeated a boxer from China, the host country. Worapot also won a gold medal in this competition. This was Worapot’s first gold medal in the Asian Games and the only gold medal for Thai amateur boxers in this competition.
